Lavender Jade Meaning

Sometimes referred to as lilac jade, lavender jade is a gorgeous, gentle purple stone that has been present since ancient civilizations roamed the Earth. As a result, many ponder the lavender jade meaning in Chinese, but, interestingly enough, purple jade is the only color jade that is not at all related to any meridians used in Chinese medicine. Instead, it’s related to what are known as “super meridians”.

Purple jade’s meaning differs slightly in another part of the world: Turkey. Turkish purple jade saw great popularity during the 80s, when tons of the mineral were exported to commercial markets. The commodity was sourced from the  one place in the world which  could produce this form of purple jade: Bursa, in Turkey.

To many, lavender jade is also considered to be an honorary birthstone. When it occurs in violet ray energy, jade is assigned to all who are born around the start of the near year, just after the winter solstice between December 21st and January 19th. Gifting jade to any individuals born between this time would be a worthwhile endeavor!

Purple Jade Metaphysical Properties

The Ancient Chinese knew the secrets of purple jade, and mastered working with its healing properties from early on.

The most impressive of the lavender jade properties is perhaps the stone’s ability to protect the human aura. It is believed that this stone, unlike other forms of jade, has the ability to connect a user to the energy of Kwan Yin, a fierce power that is known as the Bodhisattva of compassion. From here, we are given our metaphysical gifts, as well as deep inner peace.

There is further significance to lavender jade when considered in relation to the chakras. Usually, crystals tend to correspond with just one chakra, and it’s often identifiable by the color of the stone in question. For example, green crystals tend to work with the heart chakra, while blue stones focus more on the throat.

Since lavender jade is of violet ray energy, it would be logical to assume that it works with the crown charka only. This is false, as the stone is actually attuned to the root, heart, third eye and crown chakras simultaneously. This is not a common occurrence in crystals, and it is testament to what this stone may be able to do for you.

Purple jade can be used to clear the head, and to bring tension under control. If you suffer from lethargy or chronic spells of exhaustion, keeping a piece of this crystal nearby could help bring things back into balance.

All forms of jade are considered to be luck bringers, and lavender jade is no different. Keep a piece somewhere you often frequent so that you’ll regularly interact with it if more luck is something you seek in your experience.

Lavender Jadeite

Here’s the science behind this highly metaphysical stone: all forms of jade are derived from one of two mineral variants, known as jadeite and nephrite.

These two variants share many similarities, but also many differences. For example, both of them are extremely tough, but nephrite is slightly more so than jadeite. Jadeite is considered to be more rare, and thus tends to cost a lot more than stones derived from nephrite.

When it comes to lavender jade, it is always a derivative of the jadeite mineral. Nephrite does not occur in purple ray energy, but only in varieties of green and creamy whites. Jadeite has a much broader color ray spectrum, appearing in everything from blue to red, and black to brown.

The difference between jadeite and nephrite is simply the mineral compositions. Jadeite is considered an aluminum-rich pyroxene, while nephrite is rather a magnesium-rich amphibole. These technicalities are unimportant when working with crystals for healing purposes, as the energy held within them is exactly the same.

Where is Lavender Jade Found?

Since deposits of jadeite are less common around the world, there are only a few distinct places where purple jade stone can be found. Earlier we mentioned the region of Bursa in Turkey, where Turkish purple jade was found in abundance in the 80s.

Other than this area, most purple jadeite deposits are situated in Japan, Russia and Myanmar.

Despite being an invaluable resource to the Chinese, they did not have any purple jade deposits of their own. It is believed that the first traces of lavender jade on the continent had been imported into China from Burma, sometime during 1800.

Other forms of nephrite jade are found in abundance worldwide. New Zealand, the Swiss Alps and even Guatemala have offered generous deposits to the market, with some nephrite occurring in parts of China, too. though never in purple ray energy.

For purchase purposes, you’re likely to find purple jade being sold at flea markets, specialized esoteric stores, and via e-commerce platforms online.

How to Cleanse Lavender Jade

Here’s where things get interesting; lavender stones are not self-cleansing crystals, and they need to be properly cleaned and recharged every so often. Failure to do so will result in an energetically contaminated crystal that simply can’t offer you the properties that it usually would.

We recommend cleansing all crystals at least once a month. More often would be great, should your schedule allow for it, however once a month at a minimum will suffice.

Use any of the following methods to cleanse and recharge your lavender jade stone:

  • Jade is a water-safe crystal, so you can hold your stone under running water for one minute to cleanse, then use a towel to dry it off.
  • Create a saturated saltwater solution and submerge your purple jade in it for up to 24 hours.
  • Bury lavender jade in the garden and leave it to cleanse for up to 48 hours.
  • Leave your stones under the light of the full moon once a month, retrieving them the following morning.
  • Burn herbs or incense over lavender jade, setting the intention for cleansing with your mind’s eye.
  • Lay purple jade on a bed of Himalayan salt, and leave it for 48 hours. Alternatively, store your stone on the salt whenever it’s not in use, keeping it cleansed at all times.
  • Place lavender jade on any self-cleansing stone, such as selenite, and leave them together for up to 24 hours.

Lavender Jade Value

The jade market is a tricky one to navigate. It tends to fluctuate depending on the type of jade (jadeite or nephrite), as well as the destination from which the stone was sourced. Certain types of jade that are considered to be more abundant, such as green jade, retail at semi—affordable prices, while other forms, such as purple jade, can be anywhere from cheap to totally unaffordable.

The value of lavender jade, in our opinion, should never exceed around $20 for a coin-sized piece of the stone. Naturally, larger sized stones will be higher in price, but as a standard this is a reasonable trade.

You’ll find some sellers online who have somehow come into possession of “ancient” pieces of purple jade that they have priced according to the stone’s carat measurement. This sees some relatively small pieces of lavender jade retailing from upward of $800 plus tax.

Note that while owning a piece of ancient jade may be a wonderful thing, it is not necessary in order to reap the healing benefits of this type of crystal in general. Furthermore, it’s important that you only purchase lavender jade from reputable retailers, and be wary of a seller whose prices seem too good to be true.

Lavender jade is an easy stone to replicate using glass and dye, and some counterfeit manufacturers take advantage of this, particularly in countries in the east. Look into the authenticity of the retailer from who you intend to purchase your stones, and take a look at their customer reviews where possible.

Lavender Jade Jewelry

Lavender Jade Ring

The best way to amplify crystal healing in your life is to wear it on your body. Purple jade jewelry comes in many different forms, and lucky for us the market is quite abundant with sellers and options to fit any budget.

One of our favorite ways to wear lavender jade is in ring form. Keeping this stone on the hands is a great way to frequency catch a glimpse of it throughout your day, and it is believed that through this repetitive contact the stone is able to deliver its luck-bringing qualities.

Rings made with lavender jade don’t run cheap; you can expect to pay upward of $120 for a decent quality piece.

Purple Jade Bracelet

Surprisingly, purple jade bracelets made with tumbled stones seem to be the more affordable form of lavender jade jewelry. This is likely because they are often made with recycled jade stones; those that have been discarded by mineral museums or scientific research labs.

A jade bracelet price sits at around $10 a piece, which is one of the cheapest forms of these stones out there.

If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on your crystal collection, a lavender jade bracelet can bring all of the properties of the stone into your life, despite the shape and cut of the piece.

There may be some truth to the notion that wearing jade on one’s wrist can offer relief to conditions such as joint pain or carpal tunnel. All forms of jade are naturally cool, with anti-inflammatory abilities, which could mean that a purple jade bracelet works on providing needed relief.

Purple Jade Bracelet Meaning

We looked closely at the metaphysical properties of purple jade earlier on, however you should know that jade also has many physical healing properties, too.

Jade prompts the body to filter itself. It sends subtle messages of cleansing, fueling the body’s natural filtration of harmful toxins. This can be extremely beneficial in helping the spleen, kidneys, as well as the adrenal glands, and it may pull you out of the line of fire for much worse illnesses in the long run.

The best way to work with crystals in respect of the inside of the body is to keep them close to the bloodstream. The wrists are considered to be the nearest point of entry into the blood without breaking skin, and thus wearing a purple jade bracelet here could offer great benefit.

The best part is that it takes no effort from you to enjoy these healing benefits. Once the lavender jade bangle is on your wrist, you need only go about your day as usual, and the stone will do the rest.

Lavender Jade Bangle and the Chakras

We touched on the notion that lavender jade is a unique stone, in that it works with the root, heart, third eye and crown chakras simultaneously. The arms are the only limbs on the body that are able to cover all of this ground as needed. This means you can reach your root chakra and your crown chakra using your arms without much effort.

This is when having a lavender jade bracelet on your wrist comes in handy. If you sense your crown chakra is in need of some stimulation, you need only raise your arm over your head, aligning the stone with the energy hub.

Similarly, if you feel that your heart, third eye or root chakras are in need of some good vibrations, your wrist is just a reach away and can deliver the frequency of the stone quite conveniently.

Lavender Jade Necklace

On a similar note, when stones have a particular connection to the heart chakra, it can be beneficial to wear them as near to this energy center as possible. This would be in the form of a necklace, and lavender jade pendants make this possible.

A purple jade pendant allows the wearer to hold the stone very near and dear to their heart region. Like wearing jade on the wrists, this allows the crystal to work its metaphysical and physical magic as you go about your day, paying little to no attention to the stone until you’re reminded of its existence.

Crystal necklaces can be instrumental tools for anyone who is looking to enjoy the benefits of crystal healing but doesn’t necessarily have the time to sit and meditate with the stone, or to work with it intentionally.

Your purple jade necklace could cost anywhere from $15 through to $100. It depends on the source of the jade and the creative process that was used to turn it into a pendant. Remember, when it comes to crystal jewelry you’re not only paying for the stone.

Lavender Jade Earrings

Purple jade earrings are the hidden gem when it comes to this kind of energetic work. You see, lavender jade is extremely connected to the crown and third eye chakras, as discussed above, and the ears provide a very direct pathway toward both of them.

Having lavender jade beads dangling on either side of your head means that the stones will be able to interact with your crown and third eye as needed. There will be no effort required on your part, but you can rest assured that a clear mind and unwavering focus will be yours to enjoy so long as the jewels are in your ears.

People who are more sensitive to crystal energies may find that wearing the stones so close to their head does get a bit draining as the day goes on. A good idea is to wear crystal earrings only every two days, giving your body a bit of a break in between. That said, there is nothing damaging or dangerous that can occur from too much contact with lavender jade.

Conclusion

There isn’t a soul on Earth who can’t benefit from a piece of lavender jade. We believe that these crystals were sent into our dimension to help humans in ways that few stones had previously been capable of helping.

As humans, it is incredibly difficult to bring four chakras back into alignment simultaneously, whether with or without an energetic influence. The fact that lavender jade seeks to help us do this is testament to the stone’s intention to serve a user in a holistic, balanced way.

Look into what purple jade options are available to you; you won’t regret adding this gem to your collection!

My partner brought me a lavender jade necklace in 1999 whilst we were touring Thailand and Burma. We went to the temple at Chang Mia in Thailand. A budda had come up to me asking me what was my pain that I was suffering which totally shocked me as we had said nothing. I then told him that I was fighting cancer with alot of treatment and operations. He then asked us too follow him into the temple and led me to the beautiful statue of the Buddha. He prayed for me and I prayed too. Then we went into a room where there was so much different jade. He proceeded to hand me a piece of lavender jade and told me that this crystal would help me through all my suffering and to keep me strong. He told me that he would mount this in gold and make a necklace for me to wear close to my heart. It is beautiful and I have never not worn it and k clean it with himalayas salt once a month. The end to my story is that I was very poorly and I only had a 30% chance to overcome this and I am still alive today.
